We hope you had a wonderfully Merry Christmas. Now it is time to party down for the New Year! Here is a list of some fun New Year’s Eve events for you to consider. Along with these events, every self-respecting bar and casino in and around Tahoe will have something going on that night. Be safe, have fun and call a cab if needed – the police and CHP/NHP will be out in full force that night:

New Year’s Eve Celebration at Jake’s from 5:30pm – Come early with the family for an Ala Carte Menu, or come later for a 3-course Prix Fixe menu, and ring in the New Year with party hats, a champagne toast, & dancing. Guaranteed reservations required.

New Year’s Eve at Northstar starting at 8pm – Ring in the New Year during our annual Fire & Ice New Year’s Eve Celebration – it’s guaranteed fun for all ages! There will be a DJ, live music by Led Zeppelin 2 – The Live Experience, a spectacular Fireworks show, smores, drink specials, shopping, dining, ice skating and more.

New Year’s Eve Fireworks at Squaw Valley begins at 9:30pm – Ring in the New Year at Squaw Valley with a New Year’s Eve Fireworks Extravaganza. The weather has been too nice, we are really getting down on our knees and praying hard for snow. The lack of snow makes for an easy drive up though and we might have a little dusting tomorrow. So come on up and enjoy some of these fun events:

December 16 – Toccata Presents Annual Messiah Series at the Resort at Squaw Creek – Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus presents selections from Handel’s Messiah as well as other holiday favorites. This concert is at the Resort at Squaw Creek in Olympic Valley. Other concerts will be December 17 at NTEC in Kings Beach and December 20 at Assumption Catholic Church in Truckee.

December 17 – Snow God’s Ball – This is a benefit for the Squaw Valley Avalanche Awareness Education Fund. There will be live music, door prizes, raffle prizes and silent auction items Tickets are $20 at the door/$15 in advance. (21 & older only)

December 17 to 23 – Skiing for Schools – Sugar Bowl Ski Resort. $35 lift tickets can be purchased the week prior at Porters Sports in Truckee and Tahoe City. Proceeds go to Excellence in Education Foundation.

December 17to 31 – Holidays at Squaw – Family events, Santa, Holiday torchlight parade. Squaw decorates the mountain with mini stockings filled with presents, Christmas carolers and lights.
