July 22 – 24: The Truckee Antiques Show – Originally founded in 1974 by the Truckee Wolverine Boosters Club, the Show continues to raise money for Truckee High School’s scholarship, academic and sports programs. Over fifty exhibitors from nine states will be displaying their wares. 

July 23: Excellence in Education Home Tour at Martis Camp – Spend the day exploring remarkable one-of-a-kind custom homes at Martis Camp and help raise money to benefit local Tahoe-Truckee schools. 

July 23: The 16th Annual Kings Beach Fine Art and Sculpture on the Shore – The festival makes its appearance at beautiful Kings Beach State Park on the shore of North Lake Tahoe. The event features 40 artists displaying two-dimensional and sculptural works, fine crafts and jewelry in this scenic setting. 

July 24: Concerts at Commons Beach – Free concerts on the beach in Tahoe City. This week, The Eric McFadden Trio will play from 4:30 until 7. Great venue, especially at the price!

Tahoe/Truckee Weekend Events – July 15 – 17

Art, wine and Shakespeare – culture in the high country! This weekend shows another side of our area. Sure, we have mountain biking, hiking and outdoor fun for all, but there are the finer things in life available here too. Come on up to the mountains and enjoy the beautiful weather and some of these fun events:

July 15: Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival – This summer the Festival returns with one of the Bard’s greatest comedies…Twelfth Night. Expect a lavish production with gorgeous costumes and sets and beautiful music, performed with wit and clarity by one of the best professional acting companies in the West.

July 16: Donner Lake Triathlon – Big Blue Adventure Series features triathlon, trail running and adventure racing.

July 16: Wild Wild West Weekend at Squaw Valley – Enjoy live music with Pete Charles, Uncle Rico and more. All activities take place at High Camp with pony rides for children, petting zoo, music and more. FREE with a Cable Car ticket.

July 17: 5th Annual Relay For Life of Truckee-Tahoe – The American Cancer Society’s 24 hour Relay For Life will Celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and Fight Back against cancer. This community event will be held at Truckee High School. There will be bands, games, activities, food, and a special kids zone with fun kids activities.

July 17: 10th Annual Art, Wine & Music Festival at the Village at Squaw Valley – The Village will burst with color, taste and sound as fine artists, crafts makers and musicians participate in this event. The festival features two performance stages and cobblestone streets lined with fine art booths and exhibits. Wine Tasting is offered daily from 2 to 5 pm.

July 1: Kings Beach Music on the Beach – Get your beach chairs and dancin’ shoes ready for some great music in Kings Beach. The 2011 season promises to be bigger and better than ever!

July 2: July 4: Ski and Ride at Squaw Valley – With over 800 inches of snow, they are going to open for skiing and riding on July 2, 3, and 4. How many times can you say you made turns on lift served terrain at Squaw Valley on the Fourth of July weekend?

July 2: Beerfest & Bluegrass 2011 – Live Bluegrass & Beer Tasting Festival at Northstar Resort – Sample cold, frosty beers from over 30 regional and local breweries while dancing to Bluegrass tunes from The Get Down Boys, The Earl Brothers, and Dead Winter Carpenters at North Lake Tahoe’s most popular beer tasting and bluegrass music festival in the Village at Northstar

July 3: Kings Beach Fireworks Celebration & Deck Party – The Deck Party starts at 6:30 pm at the North Tahoe Event Center in Kings Beach and goes until the fireworks are over. Complete with food, beverages, indoor and outdoor viewing & seating, music and more!

July 3: The Mark Sexton Band-Commons Beach  Tahoe City Concerts at Commons Beach on Sunday evenings are a great, free event for the whole family.

July 3: Fireworks at Squaw Valley USA – Celebrate Independence Day at Squaw Valley. Catch our Fireworks show on July 3rd from anywhere in the Village. Show time is appoximately 9:15pm

July 4: Truckee 4th of July Parade Donner Pass Road  Enjoy an old-fashioned hometown parade ending up in historic downtown Truckee

July 4: Truckee 4th of July Fireworks Donner Lake, West End Beach - Dusk. Purchase tickets in advance only from Truckee Donner Recreation and Park District.

July 4: 4th of July BBQ and Fireworks Show at the Hyatt Lake Tahoe, Incline Village - Receive access to the buffet and bar (with 2 drink tickets) and a spot on the lower cottage green to watch the fireworks.

June 25: Western States 100 Endurance Run – 100 mile endurance run traverses the Sierra Nevada along the Western States Trail from Squaw Valley to Auburn.

June 25: Big Blue Adventure Series ~ XTERRA Tahoe City – Off Road Triathlon that celebrates the natural environment of the North Shores excellent terrain, trails and blue water.

June 25: Village at Northstar Wine Walk  – 2:30-5:30 pm Sample unique wines at over 10 different stops, light hors d’œuvre at over five Village locations and great conversation all around.

June 26: The 2nd Annual Truckee Chili Cook-off – Noon – 5 pm a fundraiser for the Truckee-North Tahoe community, is brought to you by the Truckee Sunrise Rotary Club and Sponsors

June 19: Summer Concerts at Commons Beach in Tahoe City – Enjoy a full summer line-up of live music right on the beach, all summer long beginning at 6pm

The weather seems to be signaling that summer is finally here – about time! With a weather forecast that does NOT include snow for the first time in recent history, it will be a great time to visit the area and enjoy some fun events.

June 11: Truckee Brew Fest – The Truckee River Regional Park from 1 to 5 is the place to enjoy samples from over 20 breweries along with a silent auction, collector tasting glass and live music by the Dead Winter Carpenters

June 11: West Shore Cafe & Inn Deck Opening Party – Celebrate the opening of the summer season with a deck party! Guests are invited to arrive at the West Shore Café & Inn in true Lake Tahoe fashion by docking their boats at one of the twenty-eight complimentary buoys adjacent to the Café’s spacious deck. Ample parking is also available for those arriving by car.

June 12: Full Moon Kayak – 6:30-9:30pm Float in a kayak on the clear blue water while the sun sets the sky on fire, the full moon rises, and the stars twinkle!

Tahoe/Truckee Weekend Events – May 13 – 15

The focus this weekend around Tahoe/Truckee is the AMGEN Tour – the largest cycling event in North America. The event kicks off with Stage One starting in South Shore and finishing at Northstar on May 15. Stage Two on May 16 starts at Squaw Valley and finishes in Sacramento. The event includes many fun activities taking place all around the area. Come on up and check out this world-class cycling event that has been compared to the Tour de France.

Tahoe/Truckee Weekend Events – May 6 – 8

A beautiful weekend to celebrate Mother’s Day in the Tahoe/Truckee area! Come on up and take advantage of the last few weeks of the ski season and enjoy some fun events:

May 7: Kentucky Derby Day Party at the River Ranch Lodge & Restaurant  - Kentucky native, Executive Chef Julia Walter will be preparing traditional Kentucky Hot Browns for the exciting race day which you can enjoy with discount Mint Juleps and Kentucky Whiskey. Don’t forget to wear your Derby hat for the best hat contest.

May 8 : Alpine Meadows Mad Cow Downhill – An annual cult favorite, the Mad Cow Downhill beckons all speed lovin’ skiers and snowboarders to wax up their downhill gear for this annual top-to-bottom race. Racers can choose whichever descent route they deem fastest from the top of the Summit Six chair all the way to the base lodge. Winners receive a 2011/2012 season pass.

Tahoe/Truckee Weekend Events – April 29 – May 1

The weather for this weekend is supposed to be absolutely beautiful! An epic spring skiing and riding weekend is in store – sunny and warm and plenty of snow on the slopes. Come on up and take advantage of the last few weeks of the season and enjoy some fun events:

April 30: Spring Pops Potpourri – The Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus of Sierra College and Diablo Valley College Philharmonic Orchestra will be present “Spring Pops Potpourri” at The Resort at Squaw Creek on Saturday, April 30 at 7 pm. TTCC and DVC are joining forces again to bring you a delightful blend – from patriotic to popular and light opera to Broadway. For concert and ticket information, click the link above. 

April 30: Sunset Ski & Wine Tasting at Mt Rose - Northwest Magnum will run until 7:30pm with a snow bar at the top. Wine Tasting will be held from 5:30-6:30pm at the bunker site above KC Traverse (best accessed from Upper Lakeview) Enjoy a sampling of chardonnays and cabernet sauvignon with an interactive wine talk/tasting with Eric Verrinder of Wirtz Beverages. On-spot prizes will be given away too!

April 16: Retro Ski Day & Pool Party at Squaw Valley USA – Break out the rear entry boots, that swanky sweater and all the neon you can find for the annual ode to our glorious roots. After shredding Headwall all day on your 201′s stop on by the High Camp Lagoon & Spa for a DJ party that is sure to bring your spirit back to the days of straight skis and Hot Dog the movie.

April 17: Ice Bar Spring Bash at Alpine Meadows – Dig out the tank tops and sunscreen for the Ice Bar Spring Bash! Warm weather will be welcomed with games, drinks specials, music and many more spring shenanigans. The party includes a DJ pumping out beats on the bandwagon—a snowcat rigged with a giant sound system and hydraulic powered stage. Volleyball will serve up some fun in the sun, along with horseshoes, dance-offs, and hula-hoop competitions
