  • Remembering the life and legacy of Eric “Jamie” Schou

Eric "Jamie" Schou; August 31, 1978 - July 12, 2014. Eric "Jamie" Schou, of Truckee, CA, passed away on July 12, 2014 surrounded by family and friends after an inspiring battle with cancer.

Jamie Schou was first and foremost an outdoor enthusiast. In the face of his fight with cancer he remained positive and always up for a challenge. Jamie didn’t focus on the treatment but the time between the treatments and using those precious moments to live life to the fullest.

Jamie’s joy in life came from his family, his friends and the mountains. Tahoe was his home and in his ever present selflessness he wanted to help others own a piece of Tahoe. That’s what being a realtor meant to Jamie, having the opportunity to create infinite memorable moments for others.

  • This quote from his blog sums up his attitude and spirit.
“There are many things we can be grateful for in our lives – our family, our friends, maybe certain possessions or material goods – but we all have one thing in common, This Moment. If you are reading this, if you are breathing, you are Alive and therefore have the opportunity of this moment and its infinite possibilities! And for that we can all be grateful. I am so grateful for this moment and I am even more fortunate. I have all of you and that gives every moment of my life infinitely more happiness!”

On his way, he touched many lives and shared his sources of strength by founding the Send It Foundation, a non-profit organization that creates outdoor adventures for cancer fighters and survivors. Send It’s highest priority is to better the lives of cancer warriors by bringing joy, strength, optimism and confidence to the most difficult fight they’ll face by getting outside, enjoying the great outdoors and “sending it!” Jamie left us with a reminder to live life to the fullest and he will forever be dearly missed.

Memorial donations can be made to the Send It Foundation, PO Box 1841, Truckee, CA, 96161 or www.senditfoundation.org - See more at:
